There are many interesting ways to make math a part of summer fun. Below are activity ideas that you and your child can do together. The activities cover different math ideas and vary by difficulty level. There are also entertaining and challenging math games from FAMILY MATH for two or more players.

Numbers Down the Street In this activity, your child investigates many ways that numbers are widely used in the world. This activity builds skills in Number Sense and Operations and Algebra.   What are Numbers Made of? In this activity, your child explores how numbers can be made up of other numbers using operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). This activity builds skills in Number Sense and Operations.   Making up Problems In this activity, your child makes up math problems and then solves them. This activity builds skills in all of the mathematics strands.   Using Math to Answer Big Questions In this activity, your child uses data to research a topic that interests her. This activity builds skills in Statistics and Probability.
